Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) achieved highest ever coal production and supply in the history of the company during 2014-15. The Company produced 25.20 million tonnes of coal as against 18.88 million tonnes during the same period last year.
The SCCL also created a record by supplying 26.35 million tonnes of coal to consumers against 22.85 million tonnes last year. Reviewing coal supply to the power projects, the company Executive Director (coal movement) Mr. N. Srinivas said that with the record production of coal, all power plants linked with SCCL were maintaining an average of 30 days coal stock again for the first time in the history of SCCL.
During this year, the Singareni Collieries has supp
lied 21.46 million tonnes of coal to the power sector compared to 16.61 in the last financial year. The official said the company was geared up to produce 60 mil-lion tonnes of coal in 2015-16 to meet the requirement of power sector under the fuel supply agreement entered with the thermal projects. All the power companies also agreed to take all coal pro-duced by the company as per the agreement.
The SCCL General Manager (Quality) Mr. G. Rajender Reddy, General Manager (Marketing) Mr. J. Nagaiah and other officers of the Marketing Department participated in the meeting. The representatives from power sector including NTPC– Ramagundam Executive Director Mr. Mahapatra were also present.
